Mark-making

They had a set of children's markers in the grocery yesterday, "ultra washable". The colours looked more subtle than the usual markers so I bought a set and did a page of marks to see what they could do. Somehow the marks came out whimsical and -- silly? -- was it the markers or was it me?

Hi there - found your blog via the OCA website. I am a writing student with them but also a serious painter.

Did a piece on my blog about children's drawings that got quite a lot of attention - you might like to look.

Markers are poor I find - in fact they are badly named as the marks do not vary very much, unlike, say, charcoal of conte which give infinitely variable marks

Thanks for visiting Mark. I agree, markers don't have a great variety of marks. Oddly enough though I rather like drawing with them.
